Oh dear. Is Andrew Lloyd Webber really considering a musical based on Facebook?

According to Lucie Cave someone from Heat Magazine in the UK is in talks with Andrew Lloyd Webber to bring Facebook to the stage. It gives me the shivers just thinking about it. Ugh

Meanwhile, someone else has produced a musical Facebook. Lovely.

Facebook accused if being ageist

If you’re getting on a bit but want to keep up with the kids, you might not be able to register!

OK, it’s unlikely they have many members in their 90’s but even though the registration page allows a new user to indicate 1910 is their birth year but they are not allowed to continue registration. Now a problem with years less than 1980 might be more of a problem.

The taxman searches your Facebook profile

The Irish tax service are searching the Facebook profiles of business people they’re investigating. TJ correctly reports that this is not a privacy issue. What is more worrying is that Facebook profiles are hardly a reliable source of information.

Will Revenue really believe that I have a mansion in the country, a flat in the city centre, and what will they make of my bitter complaints about my swimming pool?

I think if we can hook a social networking system into a decent publishing system we’ll have a pretty sweet ecosystem. Facebook stealing your photo rights?

Jim points out that the Facebook terms of use give them almost free reign over any of the content uploaded to their site. That includes your holiday photos, family snaps, artistic works, poems, songs, writing, your blog posts fed by an RSS feed even.

That picture of you in the bar singing and drunk doesn’t seem so funny now does it? What if it was used in a Facebook advert seen by millions?
